A New Chapter for Chiyo 💜

A Letter from the CEO

When I started Chiyo, I wasn’t trying to build a food company.

I was trying to solve a systemic problem.

My background is in food systems and policy, and I kept seeing the same truth: nutrition drives health outcomes — especially during the most critical stages of a woman’s life. Yet women navigating fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, menopause, and beyond were left to figure it out alone. Other cultures have long-standing nutritional regimens for these transitions. Why didn’t we?

We ask women to grow life, recover from birth, regulate hormones, sustain families and careers — and then tell them to “just eat well” — without any support.

Chiyo was built on a simple belief: If we want to improve generational health, we must nourish women first.

From day one, our mission has been to raise the standard of care in women’s health through stage-specific, clinically grounded nutrition — meals designed to support ovulation, fetal development, postpartum recovery, metabolic health, and long-term disease prevention.

But there was always a tension.

The women who need this care most often have the least access to it. The real challenge wasn’t just science — it was also accessibility. How do we move from seeing this as out-of-pocket wellness to reimbursable healthcare? How do we make food-as-medicine a standard, not a luxury?

That’s why I’m proud to share that Chiyo has joined forces with Epicured.

Epicured has long been a leader in food-as-medicine, working within healthcare systems and Managed Medicaid to support patients with digestive disease and chronic conditions. Together, we now have the infrastructure, payer relationships, and scaled logistics to bring women’s stage-specific nutrition into mainstream care.

Chiyo will remain a standalone brand. Our voice, our community, and our commitment to clinical and culinary excellence remain unchanged. We will continue investing in research, life sciences, and partnerships with practitioners and clinics redefining women’s health from the inside out.

What changes is our reach.

With Epicured’s platform behind us, we can expand access, pursue reimbursement pathways, and embed women’s nutrition into the healthcare system at scale.

This partnership means:

  • More women supported.

  • More investment in women’s health science.

  • More access — regardless of income or zip code.

We have always believed that food is one of the most powerful levers in healthcare. Now we have the opportunity to prove it — not just in kitchens, but in clinics, communities, and care systems across the country.

Thank you for believing in this mission. As we’ve said since day one — we won’t stop until this is the standard of care.

For all of us,
