Building Week to Week
Crafted by Dr. Lily Yeh Gillespie and relied on by women for generations, the herbal tonic and bone broth regiment changes based on your week of postpartum. Our herbal broth are made with herbs stewed in an 8-hr beef bone broth for maximum benefit and minimizing interactions. All you have to do is add hot water for daily rejuventation.
Week 1
Focus on detoxifying your body, physical healing & getting your digestion + menstruation rhythms back in sync
MORNING TONIC
Astragalus & Jujube: Astragalus, also known as Huang Qi, is used to boost energy levels and improve blood production. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it aids in postpartum tissue repair, fever, or severe loss of blood from delivery. We pair this with Jujubes, a calming ingredient in TCM, to reduce anxiety.
RECOVERY BROTH
Sheng Hua Tang: An herbal formula used for thousands of generations, and proven to Invigorate the Blood and Dispel Blood Stasis. It supports uterine recovery by shedding the old uterus lining before a new lining forms. Ginger Root warms the uterus and alleviates lower abdominal pain.
Fortifying Astragalus & Goji Berry: Huang Qi also known as Astragalus is used to boost energy levels and improve blood production. By doing so, it supports postpartum tissue repair and brings vibrancy back to your skin, lips & nails. Goji Berry is a powerful antioxidant, supporting liver + kidney + eye function. Iron, Vitamin C + A provide immune support and anxiety relief.
Week 2

MORNING TONIC
Hawthorn Berry: is known as an ancient herbal remedy for removing stagnation -- this means promoting blood circulation and healthy bowel movements. It is also used to improve digestion, cutting down fat absorption from food. It is contraindicated in pregnancy.
RECOVERY BROTH
Four Substance Decoction: Also known as Si Wu Tang, this decoction is used to tonify the blood - focusing on assisting irregular menstruation including excessive uterine bleeding or spotting of blood. White Peony Root and Lovage Root work in tandem - reducing abdominal pain and promoting movement of energy, bringing color back to your complexion.
Week 3
Gradually adding key nutrients & minerals to improve energy, mood, blood circulation to support breastfeeding (if that's in your plan)
MORNING TONIC
Du Zhong, Goji & Long Yan Rou: Du Zhong / Eucommia Bark is from the Tonify the Yang category. A natural remedy for reducing lower back and knee pain. The herb itself has white sticky strings when you pull it apart, traditionally seen as "gluing" back hips and joints after childbirth. Long yan rou / Longan fruit is used to tonify the blood, and together with goji, work to improve metabolism & energy.

Eight Treasures Decoction: Eight Treasures Decoction is used to Tonify the Qi and Blood. Used to improve complexion, reduce fatigue and dizziness. Building up from the Four Substance Decoction, Eight Treasures adds herbs to improve digestion and regain appetite. Our version excludes Ginseng Root (traditionally included) which could limit breastmilk supply.
Week 4
Gradually adding key nutrients & minerals to improve energy, mood, blood circulation to support breastfeeding (if that's in your plan)
MORNING TONIC
Ginger Goji: Ginger is extremely helpful to aid in proper digestion and alleviates any symptoms of upset stomach. While Goji is a potent antioxidant which can help prevent or slow damage to body cells, particularly supportive of tired eyes.
RECOVERY BROTH
Eight Treasures Decoction: Eight Treasures Decoction is used to Tonify the Qi and Blood. Used to improve complexion, reduce fatigue and dizziness. Building up from the Four Substance Decoction, Eight Treasures adds herbs to improve digestion and regain appetite. Our version excludes Ginseng Root (traditionally included) which could limit breastmilk supply.
Week 5
Adding all the superfoods back as you regain your palate - ancient superfoods to not only support healthy bones and strengthening the gut but also providing the nutrient density & diversity to support baby's flavor learning
MORNING TONIC:
Moringa Nettle: Moringa is a superfood ingredient highly utilized in Asia. It is rich in antioxidant properties as well as B Vitamins, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Potassium + Magnesium. While Nettle is a natural calcium builder. These two ingredients support postpartum nutrition in every sip.
RECOVERY BROTH
Ten Complete Tonify: The past few weeks have been focused on slowly and intentionally adding key herbs in. This week, it's the full shebang. The Ten Complete Tonify adds everything in to regain your digestion and menstrual rhythms more quickly - a key sign of your body's strength. Astragalus and Cinnamon Bark are further added this week to improve energy, generate warm and improve circulation. Our version excludes Ginseng Root (traditionally included) which could limit breastmilk supply.
Week 6
Building a solid foundation to find your new flow -- you may clinically be considered physically recovered, but mental strength & rhythm can take up to a year. While we recommend a minimum of 8 weeks, some women need us for shorter and some for longer 💖
MORNING TONIC:
Long Yan Rou & Cinnamon: Long Yan Rou / Longan Arillus/ is warm in property. It is from the Tonify the Blood category. It enters the Heart and Spleen meridians to help with forgetfulness, dizziness and insomnia. It can also reduce heart palpitations. In Taiwanese folk medicine, Long Yan Rou sticky rice is given to the young children to strengthen their bladder control to prevent bed wetting.
